About Lion (PG)
A five-year-old boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. Saroo (Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) must learn to survive alone, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple (Nicole Kidman and David Wenham). Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
Adapted from Saroo’s autobiographical novel “A Long Way Home” by AFI Award winning screenwriter Luke Davies (Candy, Life) and the feature film debut of Emmy nominated Australian director Garth Davis (Top of the Lake, Love My Way), this is a very special extended screening, so be sure to get down early to nab the best spots on the lawn!
